Hunterdon County Events

Hunterdon Parks Events

The Hunterdon County Division of Parks and Recreation offers a diverse array of recreational, music, art, crafts, canoeing, and camp programs, in many of its park areas, as well as travel programs off-site. The County has one golf facility, the Heron Glen Golf Course, in Raritan Township. In addition, Deer Path Park has a softball field and 2 soccer fields. Weekly free public concerts are held throughout the summer at Deer Path Park, which is presently the County’s only designated general use park area.

Educational programs for groups and individuals are also offered, which interpret natural resource and environmental topics and significant area history. These popular programs are described on their website.

Hunterdon County Alive

Hunterdon County Alive is the area’s largest event calendar. You can find things to do in Hunterdon County and surrounding communities.  It also has links to useful resources such as their guide for seniors, lost pets directory, local food pantries, and volunteer opportunities.

D&R Canal State Park Master Plan

The Delaware & Raritan Canal Commission is updating its D&R Canal State Park Master Plan for the first time since 1989. This two-year planning effort will shape the future of the D&R Canal State Park as a shared resource for recreation, historic preservation, water quality, and climate resilience. The Canal touches communities across central New Jersey, and its future intertwines with the people who live, work, and recreate along it. Join us at a public engagement session this summer to share your perspectives and help guide the next chapter of the Canal Park.

Additional details on the master plan process are available on the Commission’s website.
